A group of psychologists and counselors from WellHope visited Nigam Parishad School in Usmanpur on 29th October, 2025, Wednesday as part of the Vidyanjali initiative to engage children in grades III through V in an interactive awareness session. The program's goal was to learn more about the difficulties kids face on a daily basis in both their immediate social and educational environments. Leading mental health and healing organization WellHope is committed to promoting emotional health in people of all ages. WellHope provides individualized treatment, wellness sessions, and psychological assistance to both individuals and institutions with one of India’s most experienced teams of counsellors, psychologists, and mental health experts. WellHope offers personalised therapy, wellness sessions, and psychological support to individuals and institutions alike. The organisation also partners with schools, colleges, and workplaces to conduct interactive workshops, awareness drives, and mental health training programmes that inspire dialogue, empathy, and healing. Through its compassionate approach, WellHope continues to build safe, supportive spaces where mental health is understood, valued, and prioritised.

The WellHope team discovered a number of urgent issues with the students throughout the conversation, including their frequent use of derogatory and abusive language, their ignorance of personal boundaries, and their lack of awareness of the difference between good and poor touch. Many children from low-income families lived in small, frequently one room dwellings where they were inadvertently exposed to adult intimacy and behavior. This occasionally causes young minds to become confused and imitate inappropriately.

The team used case-based talks, situational role plays, and storytelling to address these concerns in a sensitive and age-appropriate way. These techniques taught the kids how to communicate discomfort or dangerous circumstances to trusted adults, recognize appropriate physical and emotional limits, and appreciate the value of respect.

A parallel workshop was also planned for parents, acknowledging that child safety and understanding must go beyond the classroom. The significance of emotional intelligence, open communication, and privacy at home were the main topics of debate. Parents were urged to be watchful and to create an environment where kids may voice their worries without reluctance or fear.

The lesson was a poignant reminder that children's conceptions of safety and respect are greatly influenced by awareness and direction. Through this outreach, WellHope reaffirmed its commitment to fostering emotional well-being, child safety, and parental responsiveness through ongoing community engagement in addition to gaining insightful knowledge about the psychosocial difficulties faced by children from underresourced communities.

The WellHope team also emphasised the importance of teachers’ involvement in nurturing emotional and social growth among students. Teachers were encouraged to observe children’s behaviour closely, address concerns promptly, and reinforce lessons on empathy, respect, and safe interaction within the classroom. Strengthening this triad of communication between teachers, parents, and counsellors was highlighted as an essential step toward holistic child development.

Heartfelt conversations and comments from both parents and youngsters marked the end of the visit. Numerous parents expressed appreciation for the awareness raised and asked for more of these seminars in the future. Thus, the WellHope initiative stands out as a major step in creating environments for kids that are safer, better informed, and emotionally comfortable, reaffirming the notion that safeguarding young minds starts with knowledge, understanding, and compassion.

At WellHope, we believe that mental health is not a luxury—it’s a fundamental right. Every child deserves to grow up feeling safe, heard, and emotionally supported. Through our community initiatives, we aim to nurture a culture where conversations about mental well-being are normalized and compassion becomes the foundation of learning.” — Asha Gupta, Founder & CEO, WellHope
