Why is Child and teenage counselling important? An Initiative By Well Hope
Why is child counselling important? In a country like India where mental health problems are still a stigma, mental health of children is most unseen and unheard. Since they can not have enough resources and infrastructure to avail help by themselves, they are always dependent on adults and the society.
In a country like India where mental health problems are still a stigma, mental health of children is most unseen and unheard. Since they can not have enough resources and infrastructure to avail help by themselves, they are always dependent on adults and the society & its members fail to understand the problems and the generation gap plays a significant role in it. Well Hope encourages child and teenage counselling in Delhi schools to sensitize students and educate them about it.
An initiative by Well Hope endeavoured to empower and educate the young minds on the issues related to mental health and bridge a gap between the problem and services. The students face multiple layers of stress combined with academic pressure, family expectations and constant comparison. When the world lives in the state of “ought to” we often neglect the needs of ‘what is”. In the series of bringing change and shaping young minds Well Hope organised a group counselling week at Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, Dr. Ambedkar Nagar to build safer, smarter and strong students.
Where they were encouraged not just to struggle with the problem but to try to resolve it systematically. The first of resolving is accepting that there is some problem. For example our society has prohibited talking about sexual concerns that make them suffer even more. Most of the time the children do not even know they are going through something wrong and in adulthood it is often one of the major causes of depression which nearly 60% of students go through. This particular drive educated and empowered them with sessions on good touch and bad touch, how to deal with it if they are facing something like this. They were assured it is safe and their right to speak up about it and also they are not the ones to blame, so suffering alone is not required.
Long-term impacts of early intervention
Well Hope encourages child and teenage counselling in Delhi schools to sensitize students and educate them about it. The necessity of child and teenage counselling in Delhi is underscored by the rapid socio-economic shifts occurring in urban India. As children navigate a landscape dominated by digital personas and hyper-competition, the internal toll often manifests as psychosomatic symptoms or social withdrawal. By introducing child and teenage counselling in Delhi schools, Well Hope creates a proactive shield against these modern stressors. These sessions provide more than just a listening ear; they offer a structured framework for emotional regulation and conflict resolution. When a student learns to identify a "problem" as a manageable hurdle rather than a personal failure, their academic performance and social interactions improve holistically.
Furthermore, the transition from childhood to adolescence is marked by significant neurobiological changes. Without the guidance provided by child and teenage counselling in Delhi, young individuals may turn to unhealthy coping mechanisms, such as substance abuse or screen addiction, to numb their anxieties. Well Hope’s initiative at Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya proves that when we normalize the conversation around mental health, students feel empowered to seek help before a crisis occurs. Our commitment to expanding child and teenage counselling in Delhi ensures that the "unseen and unheard" voices are finally given the platform they deserve. By investing in their mental well-being today, we are effectively securing the psychological health of the nation’s future leaders, parents, and innovators.
